We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Steve Garth as the independent member to our Investment Committee. Steve’s expertise and experience will contribute to our formulation and ongoing review of asset allocation and investment strategies and assist with the assessment of investment managers.
Steve received his PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Australian National University. He also holds a BSc in Mathematics and Physics, a BA with majors in History and Politics, and holds a Masters of Applied Finance (MAppFin). In addition, he has a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
We have worked closely with Vanguard and Dimensional Fund Advisers over the years, incorporating their qualitative and quantitative research into our investment philosophy and approach. We have worked with Steve for 15 years as he played a key role in helping grow the Australian arm of the global asset manager, Dimensional Fund Advisors. During this time Steve managed both the Australian and Global equity portfolios, the Asia Pacific trading team and oversaw the introduction of direct market access trading. In the last 10 years, Steve specialized in managing the firm’s fixed interest strategies.
It is generally expected that investment returns will be lower for the foreseeable future when compared to what we have experienced in the past. We are therefore delighted to welcome Steve on board as we continue to partner with our clients in their journey to wealth.
